Your mission...

Experience the acceleration

Stand on the bridge over the weir with your eyes closed and listen to the water facing upstream then downstream. Does the sound match how it looks? Imagine how it would feel.

Mission Information
This is Blackweir. The human species use weirs to alter the flow or course of a river to help people travel along it, to prevent floods and to divert water to places it is needed. There has been a weir near here since medieval times.

Cycle Closer to Nature is supported by Arla's Kids Closer to Nature campaign and Sustrans. Search for this location on the National Cycle Network here.

Bonus Question!
How many columns does the bridge over Blackweir have? Columns are the "legs" of a bridge that hold it up. Answer using words, for example seven.
Mission Risk: Medium

Medium. Keep your wits about you, anything could happen.

Don't climb on the railings or fall down the riverbank - drowning isn't fun.
